How To Speed Up Windows Xp

Windows Xp may be very slow. Some lucky one's may not be having any problem byt most have problem with the speed of windows xp. There are many ways to increase your computer's performance. So, here are a few.

ServicPack 3 : If your windows xp is not servic pack 3 i highly recommend to upgrade. Some people report
that it increased their computer performance by about 10 - 15%

Disk CleanUp : Start button >Programs >Accessories >System Tools >Disk clean up. It   is  good way to speed up your computer. what it does is delete all useless shortcuts etc.

Disk DefragmenterStart button > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmentor. All it does is compress all the files. It may take a lot of time

Ccleaner : Alternate to disk cleanup and disk defragmentor. I really remmend this. A very good tool to speed up your slow computer.
Remove Background Image : The background Image your using can effect your computer's performance. If you don't really care about the beauty of your computer remove your  background image and let it say black.

Fonts : "Fonts! what the hell are you saying, ", some may come up with these words when you read "font". But it is true that fonts take a small memory from your system. So, just remove some fonts you never use.

UpDate : Windows automatically detects updates. But some people do not update. I highly recommend to update your computer as soon as windows detects any update.

Add/Remove : Go to control panel and click the add or remove program. Then remove all those programs that you don't need. Having lots of programs in your computer effects the performance.
Antivirus : Get a good antivirus program. The best free antivirus in my opinion is windows Security Essentials. Install it and have a try.

RAM : If your computer is still slow after doing all the above methods i suggest you upgrade your RAM. If the RAM is 512Mb upgrade to 1GB.
